Citius, Altius, Fortius
We continue to train…
Saturday we did our training at an agility competition in beautiful Lewis, New York in the Adirondacks.
Roxy is one fast runner but it’s the accuracy “thing” that we have problems with. So, after blowing off the first four events, Roxy decided she would focus on the last race of the day. Jumpers – Level 1. No contact equipment*…just jumps and tunnels. 11 obstacles that you can take at high speed.
22.40 seconds later…Blue Ribbon. 🙂
* Contact equipment would be the A-frame, dog walk and teeter totter. The dog must touch the yellow area at the end of each piece of equipment. When you run really fast you frequently miss touching the yellow. Lately, for some unknown reason, we have started launching our self off the end of the A-frame and dog walk. (Speed not accuracy prevail at Iron Dog.)
If it sounds like I am sending a mixed message to the dog you are probably right. We do agility for the fun. The reality is that we will probably never get out of Level 1. (I hope Roxy is not learning that for the first time here…)
