Tibetan Mastiff Sells for $1.5 million
11 months old and 185 lbs.
The Tibetan Mastiff has traditionally been used as a guard dog in China but now will become the guarded. No running around the neighbourhood for this puppy. It’s out to stud! According to the breeder Lu Liang, the new owner will be able to recoup some of his money by charging a stud fee of US$15,000. Mr Lu:
“The buyer told me he thought he was a good investment. As a male dog, he can be hired out to other breeders for as much as 100, 000 yuan a shot. He could recoup his money in just a couple of years,”
The man who purchased the dog is a multi-millionaire coal baron who wishes to remain anonymous.
Somewhere, Chairman Mao is rolling over.
