Noted marathoner, rollerblader and Sea-dooer, Stockwell Day, MP for Okanagan-Coquihalla who is also president of the Canadian Treasury Board has had enough. Recently he tripped over a loose dog while jogging and now believes all dogs should be leashed. You tell ’em Stock:
“You’d be amazed at the number of people I’ve encountered -people that I don’t even know -who have told me about their own dangerous encounters with dogs not on leashes,” Day says from the lobby of the House of Commons. “People always say their dogs are friendly, but I was rollerblading once -this was 10 years ago -and I was coming down a hill quite quickly and here comes someone with a little dog and on, and on, ad nauseum (editors note).”
The 65 lb. chocolate Lab that Mr. Day tripped over wondered why the jogger didn’t see or hear her.
