Lake Champlain is the sixth largest inland lake (in length) in America, and for a while it was a Great Lake. Alas, it was only due to a Congressional error, which was corrected and Lake Champlain went back to being the backup lake for the Great Lakes. (Should any one of these lakes fail to perform, Lake Champlain is willing and able to step in.) These days, the Lake is in the news. Why? It’s the centennial of the War of 1812 which was largely fought in and around the lake. The War was a tie, but we did trash the White House. (I think this counts for something.
)

So, when we got an invitation to join Roxy’s agility friend Abbie at the lake, we said “mais oui!” Well, at least I did. Roxy said, “what’s a lake?” You see, up until Monday she had never been swimming in a lake. Our experience with water was limited to the backyard kid’s pool and a bath at the groomers. Monday, we hit the big time! Lake Champlain.
Would I have to teach her how to swim? No need…her natural instincts kicked in. She swam and chased tennis balls for a good half hour. Anyone know how to get sand out of a Subaru?

Looks like so much fun! The Mama said she’s gonna take me swimming soon! I can’t wait!

Sheltie’s aren’t known for swimming, but it looks like you guys are having a blast.
The weather has been unbelievably hot here. This was a great way to cool down and burn off some of that excess energy that Labs are known for.
